Ladies and Gentlemen for Eco-Sustainability
We're sorry, but this discussion has just been closed to further replies.
This is the second of a series that will inform you about the benefits of wearing your mala and saying your mantra for each of the seven chakras.
With the recent increased awareness of the many healing benefits of gemstones, mantras and malas, why not adorn yourself with jewelry that is both sacred and beautiful.
Chakra is a Sanskrit word that means wheel and refers to a system of seven basic energy centers that carry energy, or prana, throughout the body. Open and balanced chakras lead to optimal health, vitality and consciousness.
Second Chakra
The second chakra is located a few inches below the navel. The element is water and it is related to the moon, emotions, nurturing and being open and receptive. It is oriented to self-gratification, is considered the pleasure center and is related to sexuality, creativity and movement.
If out of balance, we may feel emotionally unstable, overly sensitive, guilty, ashamed or isolated. We may feel jealous, purposeless, impotent. When balanced, we feel a sense of joy and pleasure, sexual passion and fluidity of expression.
This chakra is linked to the color orange and the planet Pluto. It responds to sensual music and movements found in belly dancing, tango and salsa.
The possible physiological benefits for a balanced second chakra are healthy, vital reproduction organs and satisfying sexual experiences.
Gemstones: Orange calcite helps relieve emotional fear and restores equilibrium. It is used to open and balance the chakras.
Turquoise is a wonderful stone to use for creative endeavors and to channel emotions in a healthy way.
Mantra: "I bask in the joyful expression of my creativity. My feelings and desires are in perfect alignment with all that is good."
We invite you to wear your mala and recite your mantra for 21 days for full transformation and alignment to occur. Each of our malas come with its own life-affirming mantra (“prayer”, in Sanskrit) and represents a convergence of ancient spiritual tradition and modern beauty: The simplicity of gemstones is known to have healing qualities and, when worn around the wrist, is a constant reminder of the sacred within each of us. Namaste,
Cele?dra
Celedra Gildea, a psychotherapist by profession, began designing malas, or prayer beads, in 1995 in order to support her spiritual practice in Tibetan Buddhism. In 2007 she went to Tibet to start a non-profit cottage industry for the Nangchen, training local Tibetan women in the making of malas. Then, she and her team took a harrowing car ride up the treacherous roads to the nunnery, where the malas were placed on the alter to receive the prayers and blessings of the nuns. Today, she is devoted to providing objects of art for you and your home with malas, jewelry and home décor that help create the sacred in everyday life.
